Answers to Frequently asked questions such as shipping costs, returns and warranty.

What can I order?

You may order all items shown in our online catalogue. If you would to order an item that is not found in our website please email or call our friendly sales staff for pricing and availability.

Fishing World is a fully operating retail centre.  All pricing shown is in Canadian dollars.


What if something doesn’t fit or I change my mind?

You are welcome to return or exchange any items purchased from Fishing world. The products must be returned in the same condition they were received in. In original unopened/undamaged packaging. Clothing must be unworn and in the original packaging. Shoes must be unworn and in the original box. Fishing world will only refund the product cost only. All shipping fees and taxes incurred will be your responsibility.

Delivery times

When can I expect my order to be delivered?

Please allow 1-3 business days for ground delivery in Ontario. Out of province deliveries orders please allow 4-7 business days. Weekends and holidays will delay shipment. Some restrictions may apply. We ship Canada post and canpar for larger or heaviers items such a rods , troll motors, ice shelters or ammunition..  Most shipping charges are very nominal. In most cases $10.00 for small packages and $20-$30 for oversize such as 1 piece rods and heavier items.

Every order that leaves the store has a shipping tracking number attached to it  , you will be sent an email with that  tracking number, if you do not receive this email check your junk mail box as the email may get filtered there. 

How long will it take for an order to be delivered to a foreign country?

At this time, only orders to the U.S. are being excepted and most deliveries are delivered in 7-10 business days. 


Who is responsible for import fees, duties and other charges?

 Any order shipped across an international border may be subjected to duties and or customes charges by the importing country.  These charges are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

What types of payment methods are accepted?

We currently accept Visa and MasterCard as forms of payment online.

Warranty/Return Information

What kind of warranty/returns do you offer?

Rods, Reels, Electronics and other Merchandise

After 30 days from the purchase date, all electronics that are covered by the manufacturer's warranty should be returned to the manufacturer. Rods and reels need to be returned to the manufacturer for replacement or repair under warranty after 30 days from date purchase. Items not covered by manufacturer's warranty may be returned (with proof of purchase) on an inspection basis only. Note: Merchandise covered by manufacturer's warranty must be sent directly to the manufacturer for replacement or repair. For returns for credit or cash, all items must be returned unused and  in original packaging. All web orders returns are less shipping charges both delivered and returned.

Footwear Warranty

All brands of boots, shoes and waders have a one (1) year warranty. We cannot accept any returns older than one year. This warranty is void if the items are in an abused or misused condition and does not cover "normal wear and tear."

Can I change/add to my order after it has been submitted?

We want you to have your order as soon as possible, so we begin processing it almost immediately after it is placed. Once your order has been submitted, we are unable to make changes to the order. Please review your order very carefully prior to clicking on the final submit order button. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you need to cancel or make changes to any backordered items, you can contact us online or call 905-573-2288.

Item Availability

How can I tell if an item is out of stock?

The product offered online that is low in stock to the point it may generate a backorder will have a low stock or out of stock next to the item number. Our goal is to allow you an opportunity to decide if you want to take a backorder before you place the item in your shopping cart. Any out of stock or backordered items will be noted in your order confirmation. We make every effort to get your order to you as soon as possible.

Can I purchase guns online?

Guns and ammunition "CANNOT" be purchased using the online shopping cart.  Canadian residents in  possession of a valid PAL for guns or a valid POL for ammunition can buy these items, however all orders for guns and ammunition will be processed in store, and you are required to use our toll free number for all sales and processing. 

Credit Card Charges

Why was my credit card charged before the merchandise was shipped?

Your credit card is charged at the time of purchase.


Billing/ Shipping address. In order for your order to be shipped the credit card billing address must match the shipping address found for your card. All orders that do not meet this criteria will be declined.

Rebate Forms

Rebate forms will not be mailed with all products. If you did not receive your mail-in rebate form with your order, you may print off a copy online.

Online Security

Fishing World uses the most advanced form of online security available for all the personal information you enter on our website. This ensures that your online shopping experience is both user-friendly and completely secure. HTTP(S) means the site usues a secure encripted server gateway  (Geo Trust Global) and VeriSign SSL validation.    You pay for your purchase in the Fishing World site and are not forwared to a 3 rd party billing  group .


Customer Information

Do you share my personal information with other companies?

No absolutely not! None of your personal information is ever shared with any other company. We have taken extreme measure to protect all our customers information.

Why does the status of my order say "Pending"?

Once an order has been submitted for processing the order status will show "Pending". This will stay in a pending status until the order has shipped from our shipping department.

Pricing and Specifications

Merchandise prices and specifications are subject to change without notice. Typographic, photographic, and/or descriptive errors are subject to correction. Not all products are available in all areas due to country, province, or local laws.

We reserve the right to limit product quantities. All prices quoted in CDN Currency.

Information needed to inquire about an order

When I am inquiring about my order what information do I need to include?

Include your name, address and phone number. If you know your customer number and order number please include that also.

Are you a REAL RETAIL STORE or just an E-Commerce site?

We are the Real Deal bricks-and-mortar store that retails fishing and hunting supplies! Our store is located in Hamilton, Ontario. We have a huge store with great, knowledgeable, friendly staff and have been operating here since 1989 .We  are dedicated to taking care of our customers.

We are open 10 AM to 6 PM Monday and Tuesday, 10 AM to 8pm Wednesday, 10am to 9pm Thursday and Friday, 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 11 to 4pm on Sunday.  

Stop by the store and watch some WFN or Wild tv on the big screen, tell some hunting and fishing stories and catch up on what is happening with the fishing and hunting in our area.
